Activities of the Publication Unit of DAE

Publication Unit brings out various kinds of publications related to literacy and adult education for different levels of users. Categories broadly are:

  • book in different languages, for neo-literates,

  • guidelines on different aspects of the literacy programme(Basic Literacy, Post Literacy, Continuing Education:project formulation,monitoring, and valuation thereof)for field functionaries,

  • policy guidelines, annual reports, statistical databooks , etc, for academicians and social sciences researchers,

  • motivational and awareness generating materials like posters,broachers,etc.,

  • special publication for special occasions like international Literacy Day Celebrations, and other national and international seminars workshops presentations.

    • Manuscripts, originating at different sources like other DAE Units,Ministry of HRD, and National Literacy Mission Authority (NLMA) are made ready for printing, through different pre-printing stages like editing, composing, designing, page making, colour scheme, dummy making with visuals etc.

    Publication Unit comprises Photo section, Art Section, a Desk Top Publishing system (DTP) and a binding outfit.

    Against an annual budget of Rs.110 lakhs, a good number of publications are brought out and some other associated work like photo-documentation, design/art work making and despatch of printed materials are carried out. Publications are distributed free of cost to various levels of users, countrywide. A list of currently available publications is as follows:
